Copper futures firm up on domestic demand, global cues
07/02/2018 13:11
Copper futures were trading higher in the domestic market on Wednesday as speculators built up fresh positions amid rising demand in domestic spot markets and a firming trend overseas.

Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to a firm trend at the domestic markets following pick up in demand from consuming industries and strength in metal at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

At the MCX, copper futures for February 2018 contract was trading at Rs 454.10 per kg, up by 0.28 per cent, after opening at Rs 453.90, against a previous close of Rs 452.85. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 456.45 (at 13:00 hours).
