Gold futures slide on weak overseas cues

Gold futures were down today as speculators trimmed positions, taking weak cues from overseas markets.
An analyst said cutting down of positions by participants in tendem with a weak trend overseas as the dollar remained strong, while investors awaited the minutes of the US Federal Reserve's last policy meeting, kept gold prices down at futures trade.
At the MCX, gold futures for April 2018 contract is trading at Rs 30447 per 10 grams, down by 0.28 per cent, after opening at Rs 30451, against a previous close of Rs 30532. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 30417 (at 12:44 hours).
